Robustly photogenerating H2 in water using FeP/CdS catalyst under solar irradiation
Photosplitting water for H2 production is a promising, sustainable approach for solar-to-chemical energy conversion. However, developing low-cost, high efficient and stable photocatalysts remains the major challenge. Here we report a composite photocatalyst consisting of FeP nanoparticles and CdS nanocrystals (FeP/CdS) for photogenerating H2 in aqueous lactic acid solution under visible light i...

Visible-light-driven hydrogen evolution with high efficiency is important in the current photocatalysis research. Here we report for the first time the design and synthesis of a new graphene-semiconductor nanocomposite consisting of YInO3 nanoparticles and two-dimensional graphene sheets as efficient photocatalysts for hydrogen evolution under visible light irradiation. The graphene/YInO3 nanoc...
متن کاملImmobilizing CdS quantum dots and dendritic Pt nanocrystals on thiolated graphene nanosheets toward highly efficient photocatalytic H2 evolution.
We report the development of a highly efficient photocatalytic system by immobilizing high-quality CdS quantum dots and dendritic Pt nanocrystals on thiol-functionalized graphene substrates. We have demonstrated that the use of QDs with compact sizes leads to a dramatically enhanced performance in comparison with their bulk counterparts. Our design allows for systematic examination of the impac...
متن کاملDesign of multicomponent photocatalysts for hydrogen production under visible light using water-soluble titanate nanodisks.
We report the design of efficient multicomponent photocatalysts (MPs) for H2 production under visible light by using water-soluble ultrathin titanate nanodisks (TNDs) stabilized by tetraethylammonium cations (TEA(+)) as building blocks. The photocatalysts are designed in such a way to significantly enhance simultaneously the efficiency of the three main steps in the photocatalytic process i.e.,...
متن کاملHighly efficient nitrobenzene photoreduction over the amino acid-modified CdS-TiO2 nanostructures under visible light
CdS-coupled TiO2 nanocrystals were prepared by the microemulsion-mediated solvothermal method at pretty low temperatures. The semiconductor nanocrystals were modified with tyrosine, phenyl alanine, glysine and glutamate aminoacids and then were characterized by BET, SEM, EDX, XRD, UV–Vis spectroscopy, and FTIR analysis methods. The specific surface area and the average pore diameter ...
